Victor Leach

Victor Conrad Leach, the son of Kathleen Taylor and Forrest Leach Sr. was born August 16, 1960 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and departed this life Saturday June 27, 2015 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He attended Crescent and Lincoln Elementary Schools as well as Westinghouse Senior High School. While attending Connelley Technical Institute Victor received broad exposure to the building trades in the areas of; HVAC, electrical, plumbing and construction. He chose the construction program but it was carpentry that was his passion. Although Victor worked with various general contractors in the Pittsburgh area, he worked as an independent general contractor. His talents as a building tradesman endeared him to many in the East End community and it was not uncommon to see him replacing roofs, installing side walks, building decks, porches , installing windows and skylights, and even landscaping a yard, along with his twin brother Vernon. Victor built a tree house and natural would swing for his beloved nieces, which became a source of joy and fun for children all over the community. No job was too large or too small for Victor. He was always available to help a neighbor out with a home repair or improvement project such as, tile floor, water heater, furnace installation or even gut rehab of a property. If you called Victor for a job he was always there in a jiffy with his myriad of tools. He loved woodworking and was especially adept at making kitchen cabinets from hard woods or soft pines. He enjoyed using his carpentry skills to make hand crafted furniture, uniquely designed, one of a kind; bookshelves, waterbeds, kitchen islands, wine bars, and coffee tables. If it was made of wood and you wanted it crafted, Victor was the carpenter for you. Victor was a Jazz enthusiast who enjoyed good music in general. He was at peace vegetable gardening or planting trees and shrubs. He loved and treasured his twin brother Vernon; they were inseparable. Victor was a gregarious, outspoken, rowdy-beautiful soul who will always live in the hearts and minds of those people’s lives he touched. He leaves to cherish his memory; mother Kathleen Taylor, brothers; Edwin Taylor and David Leach, sisters; Dr. Renee Taylor (Dr. Lawrence Watkins), Marilyn Leach and Diane Leach Jones , sister-in-law Jaime Lynch-Taylor, nieces; Dr. Aisha K. Taylor, and Seson Taylor-Campbell( Carver Campbell), Dr. Jamila Watkins and Najja Watkins, nephews; Damien and Brandon Jones.
